We publish plain-language guides about the SASSA SRD (Social Relief of Distress) grant and related topics. Our goal is simple: help readers understand the process and find official channels, without jargon and without confusion.

We write for ordinary people who need clear answers. We do not use hype, and we do not invent details we cannot verify.
What this site is NOT
This site is not SASSA. It is not the South African government. It is not operated, endorsed, or funded by any government body.
Because of that, we cannot do any of the following:
- Check or track the status of any grant application.
- Submit, approve, or appeal any application.
- Change your personal details, banking details, or phone number with SASSA.
- Ask for your ID number, phone number, OTP, or banking details. No form on this site asks for any of these, and we never request them.
If a page on this site ever seems to ask for your personal details, treat it as suspicious and contact us.
How we research
We start with official sources first — mainly the SASSA website and the official SRD portal. Where we cannot verify a detail from an official source, we either leave it out or clearly label it as unverified.
We do not copy long passages from official pages. We summarise facts in our own words and link back to the official source so readers can check for themselves.

How we're funded
The site is currently unfunded by grants, sponsors, or government bodies. It is a private project, and we receive no money from SASSA or the South African government.
If display advertising is introduced in future, it will be clearly labeled as advertising. Advertisements will never be designed to look like official SASSA buttons, links, or notices. Advertising will never affect what we write in our guides.
